Piano Tuning

A standard tuning ($195) includes a pre tuning inspection, adjustment of the pedals,  tightening the pin block bolts and bench bolts as well as adjusting the pitch.  As time allows, I also try to include minor repairs or adjustments (such as a sticking key).  If a long time has passed since the last tuning, a tension adjustment (also referred to as a pitch raise) may be needed prior to fine tuning ($75).

Cleaning

A complete interior cleaning ($155) is an important part of piano maintenance.  It includes removal of dust and debris from the piano action and keybed, as well as detailing of the plate, soundboard, dampers and case.  A great time to schedule a cleaning is along with your piano tuning.

Repair

From replacing key tops to fixing a note that won’t play.  Cost is based on parts and labor required to perform the work.

Regulating

Ever wonder if your piano could play better?  Over time parts wear, felt and wood parts expand and contract, and screws and springs can loosen.  Regulating involves putting these parts back into proper alignment so that your piano will respond evenly to the touch and play its best.  Jaid can asses the performance of your piano and discuss with you the options that will take it to a higher level.

Humidity Control

Jaid is a certified installer of the Dampp-Chaser Piano Lifesaver System.

This system creates a microclimate at the piano soundboard, where it maintains

the ideal relative humidity.  This contributes to the pitch stability and longevity

of your piano.  The best time to install a humidity control system is 2-3 weeks prior to your piano tuning.

Inspections

Before you buy, assess performance and make sure you are aware of needed repairs, and that the piano is structurally sound and will hold a tuning.  Pre-purchase or pre-sale. ($150)
